Rules for Binomial nomenclature (ICZN)

 Zoological nomenclature is independent of other system of nomenclature . The scientific name of species level is binomial and trinomial in subspecies level.

(1) Generic name and specific names are used in binomial system...Generic is at first then Specific ; if hand written ..must be  underlined separately, if printed.. must be italics .
(2)  The Generic epithet starts with capital latter and rest small , in specific epithet no any capital letter is there .
(3) Spefic epithet endind in
*___i in masculine
*___a/_e in feminine 
*___um/__us in neuter gender .
(4) Spefic epithet end with..
* _i/_ii/_ae if based on person
*_ensis/__iensis if based on geographical places .

Algae spotting: Specimen 1: সনাক্তকরণ বৈশিষ্ট্য: (১) অনেক গুলো কোষ সাইটোপ্লাজমের সূত্র দ্বারা একে অপরের সঙ্গে যুক্ত হয়ে সিনোবিয়াম তৈরি করেছে। (২) অঙ্গজ কোষ গুলো ন্যাসপাতি আকারের । (৩) প্রতি কোষের অগ্রভাগে দুটি করে ফ্ল্যাজেলা আছে। (৪) সিনোবিয়ামের ভেতরে ছোট ছোট কলোনী আছে। সুতরাং,‌প্রদত্ত নমুনা Volvox এর অপত্য কলোনী সহ একটি সিনোবিয়াম। Specimen: সনাক্তকরণ: (১) থ্যালাস শাখাহীন,সূত্রাকার ও সারিবদ্ধ সবুজ কোষ দিয়ে গঠিত। (২) ফিলামেন্টের কোষগুলো দৈর্ঘ্য প্রস্থের চেয়ে বেশি। (৩) কিছু কিছু নিবেশিত কোষে টুপি দেখা যায়। (৪) ফিলামেন্টের কয়েকটি কোষ ফোলা ও গোলাকার। সুতরাং, স্পেসিমেনটি Oedogonium এর উগোনিয়াম সহ একটি ফিলামেন্ট । Specimen: সনাক্তকরণ:  (১) এক সারিতে সাজানো কোষ বিশিষ্ট শাখাহীন সূত্রাকার ফিলামেন্ট। (২) কোষ‌গুলির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রস্থের চেয়ে বেশি। (৩) নিবেশিত গোলাকার স্ফীত ওগোনিয়াম আছে। (৪) ওগোনিয়ামের‌ নীচেই সহায়ক কোষের‌ প্রাচীরে খর্বাকার পু়ং ফিলামেন্ট আবদ্ব আছে। অতএব, এইটি Oedogonium এর খর্বাকার পু়ং ফিলামেন্ট সহ একটি ন্যানান্ড্রাস প্রজাতির ফিলামেন্ট।

   Detection of unknown sugar sample solution  General Test:1 1.Benedict's Test Experiment  3ml sample solution and 2-3 ml Benedict's qualitative reagent are mixed in a dry clean test tube and boiled for 5 minutes. Observation  The mixture solution turns green, yellow and finally red. Inference  The supplied sample is of reducing sugar.  The red ppt. is Cu2O (I). Reactions : Reducing sugar+alkali—>Enediols Enediols+2 Cu2+---> 2Cu+ + acidic sugar 2Cu+ + 2OH– —-> 2CuOH 2CuOH +Heat —> Cu2O (red ppt) +H2 O General Test   2.Barfoed's Test Experiment  1 ml (5 drops) sample solution and 3 ml Barfoed's reagent ( a soln of cupric acetate and acetic acid) are mixed in a test tube and boiled in a boiling water bath for 3 minutes. Observation  A reddish ppt.is formed. Inference  The reducing sugar is a monosaccharide since ppt is formed within 3 minutes.
